Conditions attaching to the appointment of
Engineer Ship Surveyor, Marine Department, Hong Kong.

Salary. £600 per annum in the scale

£550 per annum rising by annual increments of £25 to £825 per annum full sale
salary Half salary will be paid from the date of embarkation, and full salary from the date of arrival in Hong Kong.
3. The currency of Hong kong is based on the silver dollar. For the purpose of payments in the Colony salaries fixed in sterling are converted into dollars at rates fixed by the Government from time to time. The rate as from the 1st January 1932 has been fixed at the current rate of exchange, subject to a minimum rate of 1/- and a maximum rate of 2/- to
the dollar.

Partially furnished quarters will be provided if available at a moderate rent, or an allowance in lieu
of rent will be granted.
New Leave and Passage Regulations have
recently been introduced and are set out in Sections VII and VIII of the Hong Kong General Orders. (Copy enclosed for perusal and return).
